Trip 4!

We are back from Jonas' fourth trip to Disneyland! It went 100% better than the time we went last fall. Jonas has been doing so well lately, that I couldn't pass up the time to go. He is older now and can recognize characters, songs, etc.. It's not as crowded this time of year and the weather is pretty decent. Time to make memories!! I know that it wasn't the easiest time for everyone to go, but I am so glad that we did. Thank you!!
Whit had a test on Thursday morning, so he, Taylor, and Arica flew out that evening and met us in California. Morgan and Lindsay met us that evening as well from Arizona. I drove down with Jonas, Logan, and my parents Wednesday night. Lucky me shared the bed with Jonas that night, something that I haven't done since he was diagnosed. I loved it! I didn't even mind the bi-pap blowing air into my face. Thanks Mom and Dad for being such great assistants.
Jonas is the best traveler ever! Watching movies along the way is great, but he enjoys listening to music and staring out the window just as much.
As tradition we went to Ruby's Diner out on the Balboa Pier. I didn't think we were going to be able to do that, considering that it's a pretty little place and Jonas' stroller is kind of bulky. However, they were very nice and accommodating. After that the three day Disney adventure began! Jonas in his silent and serious way, enjoyed every ride that he went on. Dumbo, Snow White, Pinocchio, Mr. Toad's, The Carousel, Pirates of the Caribbean (he and I got soaked..have you ever been soaked on Pirates, geez), Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion (which made him cry when someone screamed bloody murder in the elevator), Peter Pan (loved), Small World (loved), Alice in Wonderland (really loved), Tea cups, Monster's Inc., Bug's Life, Tower of Terror (just kidding). Even if he was tired, he would perk right up while riding. We had a bet to see if he would cry at the characters or smile...I won, he smiled. Pooh Bear and Mary Poppins were the favorites.
I have pictures, but for the first time ever I left something behind in the hotel. The plug for the camera dock. I guess if there was something that was left, better that than medical equipment. (Ok not true..I did leave one sandal in the St.George condo and never missed it until we came back the next spring) Anyway, I will post those as soon as I can.
It was really fun being there with everyone, especially Max and London. I didn't realize that London is the same age as Jonas was the first time we took him. It makes me wonder what he would have been like if he could move like her. She made me more aware at how mild mannered Jonas is. He is the most chill little boy and whenever he does get upset, all I have to do is sing and immediately he is happy. Little sweet London has some lungs. We watched her while Morgan, Lindsay and Logan went on a ride and she did not want to be with me and screamed the whole time! I don't know if I could do that, my singing wasn't working!! But I know that those little two know each other. The way that they look at each other melts my heart. Jonas loved to watch London and he would look at me like, "Wow mom, look at her move. Isn't she beautiful!" Max was sweet as always to Jonas. He got a Buzz Lightyear gun and Whit was playing with him and shot at Jonas. Max got upset, "No, no, no..don't shoot Jonas. He's nice!"
Too much fun, in too little time. Living in the moment is worth it. We just never know what tomorrow will bring us. I really think that Jonas enjoyed this trip and it was so worth him having a little fun and excitment.

Oh, Lindsey, yay! I'm so glad you guys had such a good time!!! I was wondering where you all were. I am so happy that you all had such a great time and Jonas did so well. You'll have to tell me: do they have handicapped accomodations for the rides or did you hold him? We are considering a trip to Disneyworld in the future and were wondering about the logistics of it all.

Anyway, I'm so glad he had fun. Hoorday for wonderful memories!!!

You are so sweet, Linds. I think London and Jonas remember each other. I think when they look at each other they are almost like, Hey, remember when? We sure love little Jonas man and wish we could be with you guys more. Give him lots of hugs from his Aunt and cousins! And of course his Uncle;)
