Here is my little non-wooden boy with some strings. This contraption was made by our OT's eight year old daughter for a school project. She had to invent something that would help someone and she thought of Jonas. Sweet, huh. She did it all by herself, hence the bright colors. It's still a work in progress.
You would have thought that I was stabbing Jonas with a thousand needles to get this neck thing on him. I have to admit that I never wanted to take pictures with him in all of this getup, but that's the reality and that is who he is. It may look silly, it may seem cruel, but it helps him feel a sense of independence. Jonas tolerated sitting up like this for a good amount of time. Oh my little Pinocchio, I mean Jonas!
( p.s. He loves Pinocchio! If you watch at the very end when he becomes a real boy..that is my Jonas..they look a lot alike! He is a real boy, but one day he will be able to move without strings!)

Hey, that is really really cool. I might have to rig up something like that for Dakin!!! Great job little girl!
I know what you mean...DH and I are always wondering what it would be like to have a 'bluetooth' baby--lol, of course we adore Dakin the way he is, but I think it would be neat to get him off his vent once in a whil so we could move him without strings.
So true he will be able to move all by himself just like pinochio some day. Oh so happy he will be. That is the sweetest thing that she thought of him when she made it. I am glad he like it, becasue to be honst it doesn't look too cozy :) Happy UnBirthday Jonas We Love You!!
thats so sweet that she thought of jonas... and i love seeing pics of him no matter what's going on in the pics. also fingers crossed that everything remains good for a long time... oh and of course happy unbirthday jonas!!!
