It was unbelievable! I have never been in a crowd like that before. Not even Disneyland folks. When we tried to start running there were so many people that it was difficult to get moving. Poor Whit and the jogger never really got to be free and run like the wind. When you looked behind you, it was like a sea of people filling the entire street.
While I was running, I ran pass a little family and they were holding each other and crying, on their backs they wore an IN MEMORY of sign. I had to hold myself together and focus on running. I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am that my mom is still here with us today.
She is amazing in so many ways. I know that I would not be going through my trial nearly as well if I didn't have the example of strength and courage from my mother. And of course her hand to hold when I need a little extra love.
I'm so sorry that others had to lose their mothers or grandmas or wives. Life is hard.
Doesn't the saying go... 'We knew it was going to be hard, but we also knew it would be worth it' or something like that..correct me if I'm wrong.
Running isn't my forte, but I would do it again in a heart beat to help support a good cause. It actually felt good. If it weren't for the wall of people at the end I would have sprinted to the finish line. Now all we need to do is set up an SMA race! Tell me if you have any suggestions of how to get that one going.

Whose idea was that? That is so neat to do that together as a family. I might have to suggest it to my family...in a few years when siblings get home from missions. I didn't know that your mom had breast cancer. My mom had it when I was a senior in high school. I love the pictures and whit's hair :)
I am so glad you were able to trade work around - i was feeling so guilty! I thought that maybe I would see you all but there was WAY too many people! Cute pix!
I am so glad you guys got to do that together. What a wonderful experience for you all!! Hooray for your mom too!
Way to go Linds. That's so awesome. What an experience for you and your mom.
AWESOME! We should have all been there. Next year count us IN!!! We love you ALL!
You guys are so great, I'm glad you all got to do that. Grammie is definitely a hero to me (and one day London, I'm sure). Wish we could have been there to support her. Thanks for your sweet mother's day message, by the way! I hope you had a wondeful Mother's day yourself. You deserve a medal!
love you guys!
Oh, and uh, sweet hair, Whit.
Hi Lindsey, my name is Cara. I used to work with Whit at Primary's. I read your blog often, but I haven't commented because I don't know you personally, but I finally felt like I should because I do look at your blog so often. I actually went to high school with you, but we graduated at different times. I'm living in AZ and I'm actually in your brother's ward (my husband is in the DO program as well). I just wanted to say that I think you are an incredible mother. Jonas is such a sweet boy with an amazing spirit... he is so blessed to have such wonderful parents. Tell Whit hello :)
hey linds. cameron and i just signed up to run (5K) for a little girl here in slc that needs a 3rd heart surgery. this one is a fundraiser to help them with medical bills. the company they organized it through is called B12 running. i believe you can look it up online. i know if you set it up that you would have a great turn out. please let us know if you end up putting something together. it seems like it was pretty easy to set up, you just need to get the word out. let me know if you need more info.
