Don't let it expire!

That would be your Driver's License. You all are probably smart enough not to let this happen, unfortunately I wasn't. The other day Jonas and I were waiting in the car for Whit and I thought I would just check out my beautiful picture on my driver's license. I needed some reminiscing time with the young, just married, sun-tanned, less weight face. Looking all the info over I realized the expiration date was 12/04/2008! What the heck! In my defense driver's license was the last thing on my mind during that time of year and especially with Jonas' first birthday and another hospital stay.
So Whit had Monday off, so I had him drop me off so that I could wait an hour to renew my license. Well let me tell you a little secret.... if you let your license expire and it's expired longer than 6 months, YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE TEST AGAIN!!! If I would have made it there FOUR days earlier, no test. Oh my word, I was not expecting that. Don't worry too much, it was open book, 25 questions, multiple choice, true/false, and on the computer. I passed, so you can breath easy and know that I am truly qualified to have a license. Side note: I didn't even need to use the book that much, but let me tell you learning to use the Table of Contents is an extremely useful skill. I wonder if the girl next to me knew that skill because sad for her..she didn't pass. I have to ask, how do you not pass when you have a book with the answers in front of you.
So lesson learned... don't let your license expire. Also maybe you should notify the DMV of your new address so you can get that handy little reminder in the mail telling you to renew. You will not only save time, but a little bit of money doing it through the mail. My address was still of our first apartment, oops. :)

that is so funny. I did that in january. But I had to have a DR's note saying I could drive. I guess somewhere along the line I checked a box about having heart failure. Yep went to the lovely DMV and had to go see the DR and then go back to the DMV. I feel your pain. Lucky for me I didn't have to take the test. We had been moved for 3 years and I never updated the address either. We have both learned the same lesson. :) Now we are smarter. I hope!!

Lindsey, you're quite the comical writer. I was laughing through your entire post. I can't believe you were 4 days out of the range and they didn't give you some leeway. Really 4 days?! Seriously. :)

What ever happened to a letter in the mail to warn us or a 1 year grace period? Honestly.

Linds,
It's been sooooo long since I've seen you. I goggled you the other day because my mom has given me random updates here and there on your cute family through Lisha. (I love that you guys all still get your hair and nails done by cute Lish! ) Anyways I've read some of your blog and I can't even begin to tell you how touched I am. You are an amazing mother and person. You have the most darling little boy ever and Whit looks great!! You and your darling little family are in my thoughts and prayers, and I just wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you!!!
Love,
Ashlee

You're on my mind a lot. I get concerned when you don't get to post for a while, as I'm afraid things have gotten harder for your family. Please don't take this as pressure to write when you don't have time - just know that we care!! Praying for you today, Cathy Groves
