We did it..our most adventurous trip yet! Out on our own in the middle of big Lake Powell. We anticipated and prepared ourselves for anything and survived rather well. Staying in Lake Powell is basically camping and camping isn't the place for lots of medical supplies and machines that use energy. Luckily our houseboat could take on that challenge and when it couldn't we had our handy new Honda generator that worked wonders! Jonas did really well and I think for the most part enjoyed the trip. He made some new friends, tried to tolerate the colder water of Lake Powell (not like his bath water), slept in a sleeping bag under the stars, and quickly learned that boat rides are the best place to take a nap. We over came the tubing for his bi-pap breaking (yea for duct tape), his mask coming disconnected from his tubing while sleeping and dropping down to the 60's with his sats, the suction and camera being knocked in the water by Hurley(the dog), and worst of all a nasty spider on Whit's pillow that I had to flick off for Jonas. What an adventure!

Dang, no matter where I go that cough assist follows me

Trying to be brave with mommy. It wasn't so much fun at first.

Those warm nights of Powell... he is as long as me!!!!
Grammie thought that I was cold, silly
Grammie
I'm Captain here and I say we watch
Nemo
I'm getting out now, so I can smile

Being dragged...really fun, just don't loose your pants

Look, Jonas is swimming out to sea!

Where are your life jackets
Grammie and Papa?

Rise and shine early bird... I don't want to miss out on the fun guys

My new friend
Zac (
Arica's brother).. what is all over your face man

It's a little choppy today, so it's a great thing we have this nice rock to sit on in the water

Jonas being a little wary of the water. He needed Mom at the beginning and then he could be brave with Dad.

Look at those legs kick...bummer we ran out of video and didn't bring
replacements.

A little therapy in the lake..look closely he's standing on the rock. That's what he would look like standing.

The most handsome boy ever!!!!

Oh mom, don't say that. It's
embarrassing
Striking a pose while Whit gets a face full of water

Once again this little boy is not so little anymore.

Happy Birthday Dad! Hope you like your present..I can tell that you like the hairband that it was wrapped with.

One of my favorite moments while it lasted

Look at me! That water is so cool looking!

Whit practicing getting some air

Beauty shot

Again, my new friend Zac. What a nice boy and that's not even really saying it. From the moment Zac came over to go on the trip he talked with Jonas, interacted with Jonas and would help us with Jonas. I was amazed because I know it can be
intimidating, or scary to interact with a special needs child. Zac acted as if Jonas was his little brother. We really appreciated the way everyone treated Jonas. Taylor and
Arica's friends, Chris Olson and Michelle Erickson, were so kind as well. Always asking if they can help in any way, if Jonas is
OK. Things that you don't necessarily expect from someone you just met.

Another boat ride and another great moment

Jonas would be watching his Uncle Taylor doing
back flips on the
wake board. His little eyes never left him and followed him back and forth.

A little morning nap after looking at the moon the whole night. We turned him like we always do in middle of the night, but this time the moon was too bright to avoid and Jonas couldn't take his eyes off it. So he stayed awake for a good amount of time singing to the moon and keeping Whit and I awake as well. Well, now he knows what the full moon looks like.

Just swimming...never quite sure if he likes it or not. I agree though, who really likes to jump into cold water? We did the get in, get out method a lot. It feels warmer that way.

Card time...where is that wild when you need one

Even though wakeboarding is the cool thing..I like to pretend that I can slalom too. It's kind of fun, but not so much when the water is choppy. Talk about a leg/butt workout. I can fall with style too, ok letting go of the rope, and not getting your hair wet while doing it.

My dad, he's were I get my showmanship

Can you see the dragonflies?! Actually they were good because they kept the other bugs down. like those stupid mosiqitos who gave all of us at least 5 bites each, exept Jonas. Bite free!

Keeping cool and listening to iPod. What would we do without music?

Embarrasing picture, but funny all the same.

The sleeping gang

Poor Zac...who did that to your face... :)

Just a little hot while getting ready to go home. And was he ready to go home, that's a yes.
So glad we did it and grateful that we could!
