A Christmas Story...

This year Jonas played Ralphie... just kidding...but doesn't he look like Ralphie from the Christmas Story?
Another wonderful Christmas with Jonas and family! Extra family this year...we were surprised to have my brother come up from Arizona and spend Christmas with us! Oh we love them and it was so much fun to spend some time with them. We had a great Christmas Eve party as usual. Jonas played the part of a wise man again, very fitting for him because he is rather wise in that little body of his. Then lucky us stayed the night at my parents along with everyone else. We were actually prepared to have a relaxing night, instead of trying to wrap presents secluded in a room by ourselves. We watched the Nativity Story...it was pretty good. I should say that Jonas did have an episode Christmas Eve. He was wearing his mask, but turned pretty grey. It was a close one. He has never done that with his mask on...so I was a little baffled and wasn't quite sure what to do. Thankfully we have Whit, who can stay calm and assess the situation. We did some coughs and put his different mask on and he seemed to be just fine.
Needless to say that he wasn't too thrilled to be woken up at 8:00 to open presents. We did anyway and he got over it quickly. I like having everyone there to open presents. It makes Christmas morning more exciting.
We headed over to Whit's parents for a great Christmas breakfast/brunch! Jonas was thrilled to watch one of his new movies and share his toys with his cousins. I think he enjoys watching them explore with his toys the way that I think he would want too. At least for a little while and then he wants them back.
We also drove out to see Whit's grandpa. Jonas of course fell asleep on the way out there and poor little boy needed his nap. We have never successfully transferred him out of the car asleep, so we drove around and then eventually took turns going in and visiting with Grandpa. Merri was even nice enough to take a turn sitting in the car while both Whit and I could say goodbye together. Then we headed back to Grandma's and hung out for just a little longer.
Christmas night dinner we had a shmorgeshborg of random food at my parents! It was so good. We stayed the night again at my folks and because Jonas was able to go to bed at a reasonable hour, we were able to watch a movie. Good times... thanks for a great Christmas everyone!

I am so excited we got to spend Christmas with you guys! We all loved being with Jonas and I am so amazed with how well you handled that "episode" or whatever you called it when we got back from the Christmas party. You and Whit were so calm and reassuring, I didn't even realize how scary it was until it was over! He is such a sweetheart and we love him so much. And we're hoping to see him again real soon...maybe in Disneyland?? just a thought.
