A much needed "Thanks"

Over the course of Jonas' life and continuing on into Maggie's, we've been showered by the love, service and selflessness of others. Each and every time we are blown away. Whit and I have never known how to adequately express our gratitude for these things and in the end felt like we never did. I know I've said these things before, but I still feel it. There are some things in particular that I know I've failed to say a correct "Thank you". Big things that are worth saying a public "Thank You" for. I could make excuses, but they would be just that, an excuse. So let me share some of the heart warming, meaningful, truly appreciated gifts that have come our way.

Right after Jonas passed away, we received a card from an anonymous family. It was full of money. It took us awhile to think of a good way to spend the money, but soon enough we thought of something. Something that we had wanted to buy Jonas but couldn't afford....an ipad. Perfect timing too because the ipad 2 was going to come out soon and what a better thing to get. Maggie has loved her ipad and in due time will be one of the best tools for independence she will have.
We still don't know who this was from, but I hope that they know now how grateful we are for your gracious gift!

Not too long ago, we got a call from an old neighbor and good friend. She was wondering if she could bring over some very excited little girls that had something for us.
These sweet little girls had been joining their ward for a day of service. When the original service was completed, they decided they weren't. Wanting to continue to do service, they brainstormed for awhile what it was that they could do. In the end their plan was to have a lemonade stand for charity.
The charity, Maggie Coleman, SMA.
They made darling signs (see above) and fervently sold their lemonade and made an amazing $75!
It was so fun to have them come over and see Maggie.
Halle, Roxy, Maggie, and Abby we love you!! Thank you for thinking of Maggie.
Thank you for teaching me about service and thinking of others!
We've used some of the money to buy Maggie some apps and movies for her ipad.
She is greatly appreciative!!

This darling blanket was given to Maggie from my cousin's friend. It has been a favorite blankie, it is so soft!! Thanks Kendi!

Jonas' headstone has yet to be finished, but it is all paid for with the help of some strangers turned friends. I think I mentioned before that Jonas' headstone was going to take some saving to get. We were given a name of a foundation that likes to help families in need. Long and short of it, we applied, were denied and that could have been that. Except that the lady I'd been in contact with, Rachel, was touched with our story. She, along with her teenage children, decided that they wanted to raise the money. Her kids took charge and planned a garage sale, bake sale, and craft sale. They named it the PB&J.
Project Baby Jonas.
They held the sale in Bountiful, so we went up to meet them. It's always nice to put a face to such kindness. Hopefully we can see them soon, when the stone is completed. Such kindness is astounding! Again I have learned from complete strangers how to serve. I think I could do more serving even for the people that I do know.

Along with these things, we've received many emails of encouragement and love, gifts for Maggie...a darling bracelet (Thanks Ashley!), yummy chapsticks and books (Thanks Gayle!), a Costco Card from a high school friend (Thanks Katie!).

Every one means so much to us and we want you to know that!!
I feel a little better now, this has been on my mind for awhile now, phew!

I've been thinking about a year ago a lot lately, all the preparations were being made for "Spread Magic Around." Jonas gave us all an opportunity to serve that we never forget. Love you guys!

How awesome of you to thank these people who gave to your family!! I donated to a family one time and all I wanted was a simple thank note or a thank you on their blog just to acknowledge that they received the donation and were appreciative. To this day, the family I donated did not even say thanks! So I want to tell you and your family what you just did by publicly saying thanks to those who gave, I know they are saying thanks for remembering. Great job!
