This time last Friday, we were on a plane to the Happiest Place on Earth!!
Disneyland!
Oh it was so great, we went after work and came back Monday night. That allowed Whit to not miss any work. Monday is his day off.
This was the first trip that we've taken to Disneyland just our little family. What a great experience! Of course it was a little different without family, but we managed to still have fun. :)
Our awesome neighbors were so nice to share some of their flight points with us, Thank you guys!!!, so we thought that we would try flying one more time while Maggie still can. Man flying is the best...wish we could always have that as an option. I packed our camera, so I don't have any airport shots. Things went extremely well. You'd almost think we were normal. We rented a compact car and again that went great! Everything fit!
Even though she was exhausted, she would not sleep on the plane or while waiting for the car only until we started driving. She didn't want to miss one thing. Then we made it to Disneyland that night just in time for the fireworks! Maggie loved them. Eyes big and wide, taking it all in.
Eating Breakfast at Carnation Cafe for the first time, I've always wanted to eat there.
Seeing characters is one of our favorite things to do with our kids. I love watching their faces as they register who it is that they are looking at. Well, we got to see a reaction, it just wasn't one we are use to. When it came time to see some of the princesses, whom we thought she would love, instead of a smile..it was a full cry. Except the villians.. the ones you would expect to get a cry from. Jack Skellington and Sally were the first to be seen, she didn't cry. Jack even said, "Well, Sally I think we've lost out touch". Wish I would have known how she would have reacted to everyone else, because that statement was even more true. So now we have those classic crying photos..Thanks Maggie for being a good sport. Still ok, who could be afraid of Pooh
This is where it all began...maybe she thought it was scary that the little fairies she watches on TV aren't so little in real life. I love how even though she was crying she couldn't take her eyes off Vedia.
She thought she was done with the last fairy
Didn't cry, but very cautious...we thought we might be in the clear
Oh no, we weren't
She wasn't even close, yet there were tears
We started to catch the picture before the crying began
but you can see her body language even says...get away from me
You think giving me my crown and come celery is going to make it better...
OK..yum.. silly girl. She was so entertained by the littlest of things, I didn't need to worry about packing toys. All we needed was at Disneyland.
had a hay day playing with the napkins...
while waiting for the parade...the program was a hit for a long time.
Even good old patty cake was entertainment enough.
But my very favorite thing to watch her entertain herself with was the stickers that she got from the princesses.. I didn't think much of it when I gave her the paper full of stickers, I thought it would have been just like the program. Something to look at. But then I saw this... she had pulled of the stickers and bedazzled herself. NEVER thought that she could do that! She played with it and manipulated it in such a way that she got the stickers off!! It was a hit!
The clothes were not enough..the face needed some too, but then she changed her mind and picked it off her face herself. These are the things that we are so grateful that she can do.
Plus that she still loves and can put things in her mouth..even if it is her medicine. What a good helper!
She had so much fun riding all the rides. The tea cups was a favorite! We rode it every day and it was the one ride that wasn't crowded so we even rode it twice in a row. She wanted to make it go faster!
Dumbo..always fun!
For Jonas
Just like her cousin London...she loved the carousel!
She even enjoyed the train around the park! Being such a strong girl
And when we weren't having fun on a ride or playing with stickers...she napped while Whit and I walked around all of Disneyland. We went to every corner we could and ate just about every treat! Good thing we were walking so much.
More characters!
and more crying for the princesses.
To be fair to the genie, she was already crying for Jasmine
This one makes sense
Back to her ways of crying for the wrong people
Now she's not even amused by seeing the characters. Maybe this isn't her thing
Then the Sheriff of Nottingham let her touch his nose and she was happy, not enough to smile, but happy
Even while having fun in Disneyland, there is still time for tummy time. It's a whole new world from that point of view.
Waiting for Fantasmic for the first time.
And of course she loved it! Who wouldn't.
I just loved going with the three of us! It was a different experience but just as much fun!
Amazingly we can always find something new to do! And before we left we had to make a wish in the wishing well, thinking of Jonas the whole time.

I loved your commentary as I followed the princess picture trail! How cute is the fairy Godmother?! Is there anyone you haven't met yet? What a special trip!
Wow! You guys seriously hold the record for seeing the coolest characters! My kids are completely jealous! Max sure likes Uncle Whit's new beard..he says "It looks like a real one now" and we all thought Maggie should be scared of Vidia...she's mean! Glad you guys had fun...makes us so homesick for you:(
