Wheeler Farm with Friends

What a fun day we had today! My neighbor and I talked forever about going to Wheeler Farm, but we could never get ourselves to make it out there in the summer heat. So today was the perfect day...70 degrees, clear sky, no excuse. This was Maggie's first visit actually visiting the animals. I'm happy to say she thoroughly enjoyed herself! I think the ducks and geese were her favorite...I myself have bad memories of the geese attacking me, so when they started to surround us I got a little nervous. I was preparing myself to do a little 'Hi-Yah' if needed. Luckily they kept their control.

Maggie's friend was very nice to make sure that she had some bread to give to the ducks. But I was nervous that they would come grab it right out of her lap, so I would take it. She saw me and quickly corrected me, "No, that is for Maggie to give to the ducks!". I love how kids can look past her disability and see her just as she should be.
All three little ones in the strollers are the same age. So fun to have them as friends!
 We were surrounded!!!
Not afraid one bit...loving all their honks and quacks
Another plus for waiting and coming when we did.....a newborn baby calf! He was literally 30 min. old! So cute and precious, trying to walk around on his wobbly, Bambi like legs. I of course caught him the moment he fell down trying to eat his bottle. He was a very big baby...there was another calf close by that was the same size and he was 4 weeks old. The Momma cow was just hanging out and eventually came over and tried to steal the bottle away from the calf. She was starving after just having the baby. So, so neat. But as always I am so grateful for Farmers, cause that is something I would NEVER want to do.
Not sure why she couldn't ride these horses. ???
Sweet friends, who are so loving to Maggie! Couldn't have asked for a better day!

What a fun day, looks like she loved it! Next time we come up, Maggie, will you take us out there?? Give her big kisses from her homesick cousins in Florida:)

It looks like it was a wonderful day, it gives me such joy to see all the great things you do together. I wish we lived closer so my kids could get to know all of my family better and especialy the amazing Colemans.

Wheeler was so fun! We will have to do more with the kiddos while the weather is still agreeable. :) Thanks for inviting us!
