March in a nutshell

I was sick, Maggie was sick, we went to Disneyland, Maggie is sick again or still...we don't know!

There has been a lot of lying around watching movies this month, trying to get better.
My sickness was really mild actually and it basically lasted a weekend, and Maggie's little cold was just that..little. She had a stuffy, runny nose and handled it really well. So well that we thought she was over it and so we went on our planned trip to Disneyland.
Our purpose in going this time was to follow my younger brother and his tour group while they traveled to California which included an opportunity to sing at Disneyland. How could we not use this as an excuse to go! We stayed at Whit's sister's again and had to get up bright and early to make their 9:30 performance. But it was so worth it, they did fabulous!! Everyone of them were acting like they were having the time of their life. The Disney Magic was really flowing!

A point out to the best fans ever!

Unfortunately this was not one of Maggie's best trips. We thought she was super tired due to the early hour we awoke, but it turns out Maggie was sick to her stomach. And sadly we didn't put two and two together until later in the day. I think it was getting worse as the day went on so lucky for her we hit her favorite ride "Mater" early in the morning...which she still squealed and smiled on despite her upset tummy.
This is pretty much the only picture we got where she doesn't look so sad. We feel really bad that we didn't realize how she felt until so late. Her tummy was leaking, but we thought it was due to a bad g-tube extension which has happened before. If only she could vocalize.."hey guys, my tummy hurts"
Sweet trooper! She still tried so hard to enjoy the rides, like Small World, Alice and Tea Cups. I guess that would be the last one an upset tummy would like.
Once we slowed down her feed to a continuous it seemed to help, but not fix it.
The next day we went and bought some Pedialyte which we were hoping would help jump start her little tummy. She was much more vocal the next day and a lot more smiles were seen.
Where are my sunglasses?! Even though it was a cold day in Balboa
Didn't stop us from getting a beloved Balboa Bar...upset tummy or not Maggie had to have a taste.

It was a really quick trip and the drive home went pretty fast considering Maggie slept most of the way. It was a bit of a bummer to not have your vacation go the way you wanted and having the worry of what's going on with Maggie.

She is still keeping us on our toes. After we got back from California, we had the thought that maybe she is dealing with allergies. I haven't looked back at my older posts, but I swear we always go through something like this when spring comes. What's tricky is that she has symptoms of a cold, but acts normal for the most part and her sats have been fine. So she is on some allergy medicine, but it takes about a week to kick in.
However this week, she is seeming more junky and each morning acts as if her chest is tight and can't breath. That only lasts in the morning and then by that evening she seems normal.
So is it allergies, or is it a return of a cold, or a new cold, or all of the above?

Cute Maggs! So sorry she wasn't feeling so hot. We were about to run down to St. George when the night before Brandon spewed everywhere! :) So, we canceled. I'm glad you got to hit Disneyland though. Magg's looks happy regardless - she is such a doll. I'm hoping the weather finally turns so that we can get out of all the sickness that has been plaguing us this winter.

Love you guys! Ash

Oh, Maggie, I always love hearing what you are doing. I like it when you can get out and have fun.

I don't like it when there are bugs making you feel bad, though! I hope they will go far away!

You are the sweetest girl. This is not surprising. You have the sweetest brother, and your parents are pretty sweet, too.

And your Daddy has a *very* sweet beard.

You know, not "sweet" in a girly way. SWEET!~

Yes, my husband has a beard, too, and we happen to be pretty big beard fans here in Missouri. :)

Lots of love,

Cathy in Missouri

I was just thinking about your family and wondering how you are all doing. I haven't looked at your pictures of Maggie since she was a baby. She is beautiful, what an adorable little girl! She looks so much like Jonas- lots of the same cute facial features. Thanks for all of your posts on your blog, I appreciate them. God bless you!
