Easter Weekend 2013

Remember when we had Easter...it hasn't been that long has it. My gosh I struggle getting things on here in a timely manner. Our Easter was a pretty good Easter this year. I was determined to since last year we took one picture and that was of Maggie in a hotel bed in California before we drove all day home from Disneyland. Fun, but not Easter.
There was also an extra push to have fun considering we could have been IN Disneyland this year with my parents again for Spring Break. This thing called work stopped us from going, plus the fact that Maggie still wasn't up to par.
Sad as I was, she's most important and so a "traditional" Easter at home was the plan.

Saturday we started by heading to the Zoo! The animals were on their best behavior today, the moment we walked into the gate we could hear the tiger growling. He growled the whole time we were there! Even getting into the water and playing with his ball! Of course we were on the upper section when he did that and by the time we'd made it down, he was done. But hey, that's the closet I've ever seen them interact with anything. Good thing for that growling because it actually got Maggie's attention to look at him. We tell her to look and she looks anywhere but.

We've had great luck with the Polar Bear and I was so glad that Dad got to see her in action. And lucky us we were standing in the right spot at the right time. No one around for a few seconds and she made her first dive. Maggie LOVED when the polar bear would come right up to the window from underneath the water. It scares a lot of kids, not Maggie she was all about it!

Isn't she cute even from the back!
Bad picture, but see those seals in the background. Maggie loved. They were very playful, splashing in and out of the water. Whit would squat down "in the water" and then stand up "out of the water" which had Maggie giggling. I think after this very well received visit to the "water" area of the Zoo, a trip to Sea World is definitely in order!

After the Zoo and nap time, it was egg dying time. Note to self: don't do the pastel version of the dye. It takes way to long to dissolve. Maggie was thrilled with stirring the eggs in the cup.

Her next favorite part was trying to crack the eggs together.

Easter Sunday Maggie threw up a hiccup in our plans. I was so excited to head to church together as a whole family, something that we haven't done all winter long. But as I said for whatever reason Maggie had other plans. She woke up at a normal time and was just crying. So we did coughs and then she just laid their with her eyes closed. That is so abnormal for her and made me very nervous. She had absolutely no energy. So we put her mask back on and let her go to sleep.Waiting to see what time would bring. There was a thought that we would be spending Easter in the ER. Nothing else looked weird though, so we let her sleep as long as she wanted. Finally close to 3 pm she felt like waking up and then acted fantastic.
After a bath the Easter Bunny dropped off his goodies. How thoughtful.

Loving the harmonica...good practice for our lungs.
I'm so glad that she felt better and that we were able to meet at Grandma's and Grandpa's for our Easter Egg Hunt and delicious dinner! I love this picture because it reminds me of Jonas' first Easter.

This was the first year that Maggie really enjoyed the hunt. Super helpful that the weather was BEAUTIFUL. We could have sat outside all day.
 Cousins!
Grandma and Grandpa put so much effort into making sure everyone has the same amount of goodies and even made sure the Easter Bunny left each one of them a special gift. Maggie got a Tinkerbell that flies, boy does she love that!
By the end of the night we were so glad to be home (not at the hospital) and read some more books that Grammie and Papa left Maggie before they went to Disneyland without us.
I have a little reader who could read and turn pages all day.

This Easter it was especially on my mind as to why we celebrate this holiday, The Resurrection of our Savior. I am eternally grateful for the knowledge that I have and believe in the Resurrection. Jonas was on my mind all weekend and I can't wait until he will be resurrected and I will get to hold that sweet, darling boy of mine. I think of Maggie and for her future. I know that Families are Eternal.
Happy Easter!

Linds,

I am so glad that Maggie felt better later Easter day. I thought about you guys all weekend as well, and sweet Jonas. Easter must take on a whole new meaning to you guys. You are such an inspiration to us all. I can't wait for you to hold Jonas once again in your arms. When it happens however, he will be able to wrap his arms around your neck and squeeze so hard. Please get it on camera if I am not there okay? I think I'm going to live forever and become senile because I have so many things to work on. :)

I love you guys! Maggie looked so beautiful in all these pictures, especially her darling Easter outfit. You look gorgeous in all of the pictures as well Linds. And Whit, he's always looking sharp. :)

Love you all! Ash
