Newport Beach House 2013

Our last adventure of Summer was to the beach house in Newport, California.
Something we've done before many times with my family in years past, but not with Maggie yet.
Jonas got to go a couple of times and had a great experience, so now it was Maggie's turn.
The best part was that we got to have the whole family there, minus my brother.
We spent a week in the most perfect weather (especially when you're pregnant ), had so much fun playing in the sand and the water, and Maggie (and all of us ) got to enjoy much needed time with her cousins. They are so great to her! So aware of her and her needs, wants to include her in all things, and love to be by her.
I could talk forever about it, but I love pictures, so here is a lot of what we did in pictures....
First time up close and personal with the California coast!!
Oh boy! This California water is sure not like the Hawaiian water we swam in last year. It's cold!

 Yippee for Cousins!!
Daddy was always so nice to lay out with...if Mommy did that we'd have a beached whale on our hands.
Our bestest Maximus!! He had a weird little cough going on and was such a good sport about trying to keep a little distance from Maggie to be safe. He was bummed about it though and said, 'Geez, why did it have to be me, I want to be by Maggie all the time'. Man I love this little man.

Not even phased by the cold water...she LOVED it!

It always happens...being splashed in the face with cold ocean water. Thought she would have a break down, but nothing!
So all the way in we went!
Jonas' LOVED playing in the sand with his shovel or even his fingers. So naturally I thought Maggie would love it to. The shoveling, ehh..the fingers in the sand..no thank you. Her hands just froze and I could tell the little Diva did not like that her hands were covered in sand.
waiting for the waves to come and get them.
These two were pals! Mr. Will would come right up on his own and sit right next to Maggie. He is our true boy and can be rough, but never with Maggie. It was funny, I would put her little hand on his leg and he would gently pick it up and put it back on her leg. Like, 'no thank you.'
Max was the master at finding the sand crabs, Will was the master at taking those sand crabs away and trying to give them to Maggie or squish them.

Looks like so much fun! Your nephews sound like sweet boys! I can't believe how grown-up that Maggie is. She reminds me so much of Jonas. They look so much alike to me. I had to share an experience in church and since being asked, I've been thinking a lot about Jonas lately and how he and you guys were tender mercies to me. I miss him so its fun to see pictures of Maggie and see so much of him in her. I love you guys.
