Until We Meet Again

I still have pictures to share about Maggie's Birthday and even to finish our amazing trip to California from this summer, but we have been so preoccupied with the leaving of my little brother. All of that has been put on the back burner.
For 2 years, my brother has chosen to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was called to serve in the Armenia Yerevan Mission, but learning and living in the neighboring country of Georgia.
The day of departure finally came yesterday and it's such a day full of emotions. Excited, nervous, sad....
It's so hard for me to not think of the fact that there are no guarantees that he will ever see Maggie in this life again.
So all those days leading up to him leaving we tried to be around him as much as possible.
We know what an amazing and growing experience this is going to be for him, and for that we are extremely excited. He was so ready to go and very excited! That made it easier to drop him off and say goodbye. We all cried a little more than I think he probably wanted.
My parents home has a bit of emptiness to it that is going to take some time to get use to.
Right now 2 years seems like a really, really long time.
But we are already down from 730 days to 729!
We strategically placed him in the back of the van so everyone would have to get out again to give a final hug.
 He's ready to go!

Final hug for 2 years to Dad...
 and Mom
 and he's off....

Linds, this made me cry! Your cute brother. I know you are excited for him, and that this is where he should be, but darn it - missions are the pits sometimes. I don't like goodbyes for long periods of time. :) I balled at each of my brother's leaving. :) He will be great I have no doubt.

You look beautiful by the way. And that Maggie - I just want to eat her up. Such a beautiful girl.

Love you guys! Ash
