Today Jonas would be four.
Funny, he already seemed four to me because he was so tall. There were many times he was mistaken for at least six. He also seemed older because his little spirit was much older and despite his weak body, it shined through.
I'll always remember the day you came into this world. Though the details may fade, I'll never forget how happy we were. I cried when you came and I cried when you left. Every moment that we spent together is kept safe in my memories. Memories I remember often and others that come with gentle reminders.
Every Sunday as we drive to family dinners and more recently as we've been visiting your grave, I think of all the Sundays that Daddy would be working and it was just you and me. We would drive around town looking at houses, picking out our favorite ones and whittling down the hours.
This one seems to be on my mind a lot and it makes me happy.

Happy birthday to the cutest little guy with the biggest most beautiful eyes I have ever seen! I met you once but that one time I saw how special your spirit was! I was in awe at the depth and knowledge you must have had! You and your mom and dad changed how I looked at "our new life" we had just found out about and I appreciate that so much! I'm so grateful for the knowledge your parents have that you will all be reunited! Love you Coleman family!
Happy birthday sweet Jonas! I have this picture of you on my fridge and love looking at it each day. One day my boys will ask me who it is and I will love telling them about you. We are watching over your parents, and I know you are so close to them as well. They miss you so much, and love you more than words will ever be able to explain.

You don't know me but my husband grew up in the same ward as Whit. On Friday, I was hanging out with my sister & we were both saying how we felt like December 2nd was a special day but we couldn't figure out why. But now I know why! Happy Birthday to Jonas!
