Today our little Eleanor is 1 month old!
What a month it has been. Sadly, she got a quick jump start to life and at 1 week she was already out and about helping in preparations for her sister's funeral. She was held by more family than we ever would have let happen in a regular situation and things haven't been that normal for her ever since.
Gratefully she's been such a nice little girl and has kept us out of the dark of depression.
We love her with all of our hearts!!
The day before Maggie passed away, I was in the process of writing a post about Eleanor arriving. Maggie needed me and I never got back to writing it.
So on her 1 month birthday I'll finish.....

It's been such a roller-coaster pregnancy and after months of worry that she would come too early, she came! Still a little early from her due date, but close enough to be safe. She is healthy and happy and things couldn't have worked out more perfectly. For my sake of remembering this day, I'm going to be pretty detailed.
I had gone to my doctor's appointment the day before and we had all concluded that she was not going to be coming early and even talked about what we would do if I went over.
I went home and immediately took Maggie for a walk in her wagon. It was a beautiful day and we were talking about all the things that we were going to do in the coming days. I wanted to take her to a pumpkin patch and we were going to wear her witch costume for Boo to You Friday on Disney Channel. That evening Whit wanted to get something to eat and I did not feel like eating at all. All I wanted to do was go buy some frames to finish decorating baby's room. We almost went out to eat, but then remembered we didn't bring any food for Maggie and needed to get home. On our way home, out of the blue, my water broke! It's pretty easy to tell when my water breaks because it is a gush and then it doesn't stop. Sorry if that's too much....After soaking my pants, the seat and a blanket we made it home.
Whit called our nurse, Teri, to fill her in and see what arrangements for Maggie we could make. Tender mercy...Teri was already in her car and for some reason that day she decided to pack a bag. Silly me, I wanted my hair to be clean and nice when I had the baby so I jumped in the shower and did my hair before we went up to the hospital. Right before we left, I wanted to take one last picture of the 3 of us...Thanks Maggie for smiling...
I was excited and so nervous for the change that this new little one would bring. I had tried my best for Maggie to be aware and excited as well, I know she was.
After convincing the hospital that my water had indeed broke, gotten a fantastic epidural, tried to get a few minutes of sleep, and all the while wishing I had gone to get something to eat, our sweet little Eleanor came with a little more effort than the others.

An effort that was so worth it to bring this sweet baby girl to join our family!
