Sisters

Time here on earth with these two little sisters was much much too short. I'm so sad to say that the only photos I have of them together is from the day in the hospital. What a cherished day it already was and now I hold it in a special place in my heart.
The morning we came home from the hospital is the day that Maggie started showing her symptoms of a cold and from that moment on we tried so hard to keep Eleanor healthy. Which meant keeping their distance...and as a result no pictures. Breaks my heart.

I was so thrilled to have Maggie join us in the hospital and finally meet her sister! But I had to have some time with her first because I needed it! I missed her and I really miss her in my arms right now.
 Our only family photo
Can you see that smile on Maggie's face! She held on tightly to her sister

Maggie was the best big sister and helped baby Eleanor get ready to come home. She held on to her sock and handed it to me when we were ready. When Eleanor cried, Maggie helped give her her binkie and then in true big sister nature wanted it back. She wouldn't even take a replacement binkie, she wanted the one that we gave to the baby. That's my Maggie!

Hehe... All three girls getting to be carried or pushed out of the hospital!

My beautiful girl and best sister....
I always wanted a sister of my own and thought it was going to be pretty neat for my girls to help each other out in many different ways. I wasn't anticipating Maggie helping her sister from afar this soon, but I know she will always be there for her.

Linds,

These pictures break my heart, and yet I am so grateful you have them. That family photo could not be more perfect or beautiful. Who knew sweet Maggie's time would be so short following these? I often wonder if she knew, if she looked at Eleanor and communicated with her in a way we do not understand, and if she was visited by Jonas. No doubt she knows him well as I'm sure he has been so close to her during her short sojourn on this earth.

I love you guys and I think of you everyday. Ash

Thank you so much for posting again and sharing photos of Maggie and her sister. Your family is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Just like with Jonas, although I never met Maggie in real life, I will miss her so much! You and your husband and your new baby girl will be in my thoughts and prayers for a long time.

Precious! The veil is so thin when new little babies are born, I have no doubt your sweet Jonas was there, watching little Eleanor begin her journey and eagerly awaiting Maggie's return. The smile on Maggie's face in that family picture is just gorgeous!! Many prayers for you and yours!!

I am just catching up on your blog, and my heart is broken. I am so sorry to hear that sweet Maggie is now in heaven. My thoughts and prayers go to you and your family. Having lost a child, I can understand the pain and grief, but I won't pretend to know how you are feeling or what it is like to go through it twice. I am just so sorry.

And congratulations on your beautiful baby girl! I am so happy for you guys!

What a mix of emotions I am sure you are feeling. I hope you are blessed with comfort during this difficult time. And please know of our love and prayers for you.

Remembering Jonas, especially today. Your blue-eyed, dear, priceless little son.

I have been reading your blog for about a year now, and your posts have touched my heart again and again. I have used your words in Relief Society lessons, and in teaching Christlike attributes to my own kids. Your life, and your faith have strengthened my own so very much. What a joy it will be to have Maggie and Jonas in your arms again forever. Thank-you for the instruction you have added to my own life.
