Miracles do happen

When Jonas was first diagnosed, all we could ever think about was having a miracle happen right then that he would be cured. Deep down I knew that wasn't going to happen. Not because I don't believe it could happen, but because this was meant to be our trial. So from the very beginning our prayers changed. Not to be cured, but for Jonas to always be comfortable and happy. And for almost three years our prayers have been answered. As I've mentioned before, Jonas has been 24/7 on his bi-pap. His bi-pap does not have a built in battery and so whenever we've needed to move Jonas, he has to go a few seconds up to a minute without support. This is not a comfortable thing for him.
We'd heard that there was a new machine called the Trilogy 100 that was working fairly well for SMA kiddos. This machine has a built in battery, which is something that would make moving Jonas so much easier. We tried very hard to get Jonas a Trilogy, but nothing was working out. This machine isn't being carried by companies in Utah and no one was willing to help us get one. We hadn't necessarily given up, but the reality of using one of these was becoming very small. Basically a miracle needed to happen.
Then a miracle... during the planning of the Carnival, a home health company received information on us and what was going on. They were touched by our story and our children and wanted to help.

made a miracle happen.
They donated a Trilogy 100 to us. Donated, it's ours. Can you believe that!

Jonas can be comfortable again!!
Now we haven't been able to use it yet, because we have to do things properly. Our pulmonologist has to write a script and he also wants to have an overnight stay in the hospital to make sure that things work properly.

Peterson Medical didn't stop there...they also donated a cough assist and a pulse oximeter.
These two things are quite important to us. Maggie will use these, which will save us so much money.

Miracles do happen. They don't always happen when you want them and sometimes they come in a way that you weren't expecting.
We are so indebted to Peterson Medical for their generosity and support and for creating a miracle!

don't you just love fighting for the things our kids need. That's so awesome! I've heard about those vents. at least everyone talks about them on SMA space. I hope that it helps out and that it makes a difference.

We are so happy we can't wait for Jonas to start using it. We hope its a long time before Maggie has to use one also. You both are years ahead of all of us. You already have learned things happen on a different time schedule than what we would like. It works out like it should but not when we want. What a great blesssing for all of you. Wish the Dr would hurry up and write that script for sweet Jonas :)

We used Peterson as our oxygen supplier when we lived in Utah I LOVE them! It just makes my heart smile to know that they really are a great company and that the kids and patients really do mean a lot to them. They helped us out so much during our move to Georgia for our Daughter Alida. We couldn't have done it without them! I'm glad they were able to help your family in so many way.
