I don't know how she got it!
It makes me so frustrated because I try to be SO careful!
I don't go to certain places potentially missing out, I choose certain places to go because I know we can be extra safe there, I sanitize every time before touching Maggie, and the moment I feel even the slightest "something" no kisses are given. Whit and I aren't even slightly sick and so mystery illness where did you come from?!
We've always taken risks with Jonas and in some instances we felt that even then we deprived Jonas of situations that he could have benefited from. Basically we liked what we did with Jonas and want to continue with Maggie, if not more.
Then she gets sick and I retract (for the moment). I know we can't live in a bubble, never experiencing life! I guess I just wish that everyone were more careful with their germs. I cringe when I hear coughing out in public, or hear sniffles and nose blowing, and I just know that they're not going to use hand sanitizer after. I know I am on the more paranoid side of germs, but when you have a child that is so affected by illness how can you not be? I wish it were more of the norm for people to not be out in public when they're sick. When they know that they've been around sick people to keep their distance from others in public. I'm not trying to put the blame on others. It is my responbibility to keep Maggie healthy and obviously we failed somewhere in protecting her. That's my job. I just wish that others could be responsible too. It would be a much easier world. :) I guess it's a reminder that we can't ever be too careful.
She's doing ok, runny nose, coughing a little, but she's not sleeping good. Luckily no fever and she still seems pleasant when she's awake. Let's hope that she can be strong, get over this quickly, and not loose too much function because of this.
On a more positive note....have you ever pranked someone while sleeping? I love it and on one particular trip to Lake Powell, I was able to prank my dear little friend Zak V. every night for the whole week. There was a silver lining for having to wake up for Jonas every night. It was an attempt to draw a mustache and such on his face with mascara. It wasn't until the last night that I got it right, but every morning he woke up with black stuff all over his face and no one had a clue what he was doing in his sleep to get that all over. HILARIOUS!!
So my point... Whit successfully pranked me while sleeping the other night! I have taught him well I guess. He totally got me with the shaving cream and tickle your nose trick. I am completely aware that this is a very, very unflattering picture, but really who cares! It's worth documenting a very funny event!

Practical jokes are the best! Poor Maggie- I agree with you, sick people belong at home.
I had a friend get me with shaving cream 3 times in one night! LOL!
And about people going out in public, I understand how annoying that is. My daughter has asthma, and colds trigger her attacks. So when I hear people coughing and sneezing, I cringe as well. If people only understood that even though they think they "Feel fine" They are putting so many at risk, who can't afford the risk. My family will be praying that Maggie recovers quickly.
I know you don't know me, but, can I just say how BEAUTIFUL your family is!
I agree with above. You and your husband make such beautiful children!
i get enraged when people are out when they're sick! my kids have severe asthma and they end up in the hospital for colds! i dont know how you do it linds, we stay home from nov. to may. (if we can help it.) it's the worst! praying for little maggie and you!!
praying for maggie boo. whit's joke makes me smile, especially since i know that prankster side of you all too well.......
Ohhhh, poor Maggie. I hope this goes away very fast! I feel the same way about you with germs and I just wish others would feel that responsibility too! Lots of hugs...I need to e-mail you about the other questions I have for D-land. Only 2 more weeks!! Eeeee!
Your pretty girl looks just like her big brother!
