Margaret Rachel's Birthday (6 months)

Happy 6 months Maggie!!
6 months ago today Maggie completed our family of four. It was such a great day. Everything went so well and I wish I were back there today for many reasons.
I had been feeling contractions all through the early evening the day before and was just wishing that I could wait until the morning so we could get Jonas ready and settled. Luckily we have great friends, who happen to be nurses, who came over at like 2 in the morning, slept the rest of the night with him, got him ready in the morning and brought him to us. So wonderful! Seriously, I loved being in the hospital! Being with Jonas, having Maggie in my arms now, Whit taking care of us and worrying about nothing.
Heaven!
Things have changed since then, but I still have my little Maggie in my arms. She is such a blessing to me! There is really no way I can be sad when I have her with me. We talk about Jonas all the time and I've managed to cry only once. When she is asleep and away from me, it's another story. Maybe I've said this before, but Maggie (well actually Margaret) means pearl. She is my little pearl. So precious, so little, so rare. She brings me peace in a different way than Jonas did. She fills me with joy.
So how is Maggie doing these day:
She sleeps with her bi-pap only at night and is doing better at waking up with it and not breaking down. She will smile and be content. She does cough assist once in the morning and once before bed. She fights it pretty good, but in a quite way. She's still strong enough to do that. It's pretty much just practice and getting use to it. She sleeps through the night, but we have to wake her and feed her a bottle, so that she can get her medicine. She goes right back to sleep though. Still taking a bottle and finishes about 60% of them on her own. If she doesn't finish, we put the ng tube down her nose. She likes to look at her ng tube and tries to pull at it sometimes successfully getting her little finger wrapped around it and pulling it out. Naughty..:)
There is a smile on her face every morning she wakes up and after every nap. There is pretty much a smile on her face all the time. When she is really bugged she'll cry a little and then start blowing raspberries. When she's very sad, she has a bit of a silent scream with a gurgle in it because her lungs aren't strong enough to get a full on scream out. She's still loud though. When you first paint her finger nails she is fascinated by them.
She still has descent head control. She can turn to both sides and look up at something she wants to see. She can keep it steady for awhile, but it will drop forward. She can move her little arms and grasp when she wants to. Her legs are harder to move, but her toes and feet wiggle a lot. Oh I just don't want to forget these things, because I am so so grateful that she can do this.
Lazily playing with her feather. Very relaxing
after getting her Synagis shot
She loves playing with this toy, and I love that she can!
This particular day she played in her Bumbo for a good 30 min. Her favorite part was staring at the flames in the fire.
Cow said what?!
Good Morning sunshine!
Will still do some Tummy Time if she's on a roll or her wedge.
What a fast 6 months! I can't wait for the rest!
Love you Maggie Boo!!

She is truly a beautiful baby and I am so glad she is thriving despite her SMA. Although I am not surprised as she has two amazing parents to care for her! Where did you find that awesome toy on her Bumbo tray? I think Ella might like to play with something like that in hers too. Happy half birthday, Maggie!
