Maggie has been sick. So far we are two for two with coming home from Disneyland with a cold. It's very frustrating and I feel like a complete failure when it comes to protecting Maggie. But that's another story. This cold started out as a stuffy nose and has now moved into a cough. Although she is sick, she has been acting her normal and happy self. We have been doing her coughs 4x a day and trying to let her sleep as much as she can. This morning I think she had had enough of her unproductive coughs, me sticking her catheters down her throat and nose trying to help her out, and then being hungry and trying to eat, but the thick secretions caused by her cold making it a little more difficult...she broke down. The next ten minutes consisted of mad, mad crying. I know that doesn't seem like a long time for some, but this isn't Maggie. I can usually calm her down pretty quickly, but this time she wasn't having it. And of course the more you cry the more secretions build up in your nose, sick or not. So more suctioning ensues which of course leads to more tears and anger. After trying a couple other usual distractions, this is what finally calmed her down pretty much immediately.
Her picture of Jonas and her.
I don't know if you can tell how splotchy her face is, but it was pretty splotchy. It's a family trait. Doesn't make it easy to hide that you've been crying. With the help of Jonas, I was able to finish feeding her. And then after a fun bath, she was able to snuggle up to her new baby Boo and close her eyes. Hopefully this stinkin' cold will go away and we don't have to have anymore breakdowns. The good thing is now we know what will help. He was always really good at calming me down, only makes sense it would help Maggie too.

Oh, poor baby, I can see the tears in her eyes and her red face. I'm sure she was very comforted by her big bro (and her mama).
