So proud

I think I've mentioned before about how neat it is to see the things that Maggie can do. I am still amazed every day! Every time she wakes up and stretches and then immediately reaches for my face. The fact that she can reach out for toys with her arms and hands is unbelievable. Her favorite game is to throw everything from off her lap, or the table. Just yesterday she was sitting on my lap while I was working on a puzzle at my parents. She proceeded to swipe every piece off the table that was in arms length for her. SO COOL! Everything she gets her hands on goes directly to her mouth. And again the fact that she is sitting on my lap controlling her head, so fun! Looking from one side to the other. Non of these things are perfectly done, you can easily see the challenge in what should be so natural. We went to Home Depot and a worker asked how old she was and I could see a little curiosity in her face because Maggie wasn't exactly holding herself up. Because yes, an 8 month old should be holding up their own head easily and sitting nicely on your hip. I wish that could be the case every day, but I can't begin to say how grateful I am for what she can do and like I said...AM SO PROUD!!

Reading her book
Standing in her stander for the first time. She loved it!
Just being cute and watching Mommy in the Kitchen
Striking her shy pose. She was watching TV and held this position for 10 min. or so. She will also do this at the beginning of therapy as she is checking things out.
Eating the spices
Maggie is so smart (have I said that before, sorry). While playing with the spices, I gave her two at one point, helped her secure them in a good grip in her hands, showed her how she could smack them together lid to lid, then let her go to play however she wanted, thinking she would just try to eat them. She totally copied what I just had her do. What a smarty and again totally awesome that she has the strength in her hands to do that. I tried to capture this... it was at the end of her sitting, so I was trying to at least help her head stay up. So sorry for the cropped picture..my arm span is a little short. :)
