I have been avoiding blogging because it reminds me of something that I really don't want to think about. We have lost almost all of Jonas' photos, everything but his first year. I am beyond devastated. Those photos are the only thing I have left of him and it kills me, absolutely kills me! There is no explanation of how this happened because I have no idea. We have been having problems with our laptop for some time and one day they were gone! That has happened once before and Whit recovered them and I saved them onto our external hard drive, or so I'd thought because they aren't even on our external anymore either! (long sentence I know sorry) We've taken it in with no success of finding anything, but I can't take that as my final. I CAN'T LOOSE THOSE PICTURES! Why am I such a dummy to have not burned them onto a CD??? Oh, I can't go on about this because I will breakdown.
That is why I haven't blogged for awhile but as I have been pushing this far, far, far into the back of my brain...we have been having such fun swimming, enjoying family, some good daddy/daughter time while I was away at camp...all these things we need to share. If there is a shining light in any of this, it's the fact that at least I have the pictures I've put on the blog. But even then those are only half of the memories. :( (it was only a shimmer of light)

There are places you can take it to or programs you can buy to help restore the pictures. It is costly but IMO well worth it.. I had my computer crash and lost everything and my brother (computer specialist) was able to get them all back for me. It is worth a shot. Good luck.

Reading your post made me sick. I hope the above suggestions work. I'll be praying they do! Are you able to pull pictures off your blog or those videos you made for Jonas' birthday? Praying for all your pictures to re-emerge!

AH!!! I think you are justified to have turrets syndrome on this one. I am like you and would just stew about it. I know it must just be killing you. These dumb computers and hard drives - we rely on them so much and yet way too many things have been lost. I am so sorry. I will be praying that you can recover them as well. Please keep us updated.

Don't give up. They are there somewhere. I've crashed 2 computers and both times feared my photos were lost for good. However, both times a computer friend was able to find them and save them to a disc. Praying they can be found!!
I will pray hard that you find the pictures. I thought I lost all of our make a wish photos and I wanted to throw up! I hope that one of these computer geniuses can do their magic
