A couple
of weeks ago we were able to venture out on one of our first vacations
of the summer. Maggie was finally feeling good and Whit had to take a
mandatory vacation so it all worked out perfect. We even decided to go 4
days early. Where was our trip you might ask...where else, Disneyland!
This year the FSMA conference was being held in the Disneyland Hotel and
so we've been planning on this since last November.
For
our Pre-Trip, we thought it would be fun to just be there in California
and hit the sites that we love there. And if it so happened that we
went to Disneyland for a couple hours, that would be ok too.
Lately
our life has been far from being drama free and it seemed to follow us.
Saturday night after arriving in California, I started to have some
mild contractions/cramps. I was up for a good portion of the night not
feeling well and worrying. Of course this would happen while out of
town! Weird thing is I had just had my 20 week ultrasound and everything
checked out perfect. Keeping that in mind and chalking it up to the
long drive, we tried to put it out of our mind. However, Sunday I kept
feeling them off and on randomly throughout the day and so by that
evening I visited the UC Irvine Medical Center. Foiling our pre-trip
just a bit, but worth it for peace of mind. Thank goodness my parents
came along this trip, because it was nice to have Whit help me check in
and see me off. He wasn't allowed to stay with me in the room. He found a
renewed love of basketball as he waited in the waiting room, eventually
going back to the room with Maggie and my parents. After 3 hours I was
released with peace of mind that I wasn't in pre-term labor, but not
much more reason than that. I was having contractions (so I wasn't
crazy) for some reason and if those were to get worse to go back. They
didn't and so with caution we finished out the rest of our sort-of fun
vacation. (more of that to come, because our life is all drama)
evidence that I was at the beautiful UC Irvine Medical Center
