We actually started our trip a day early for a couple of reasons.
1. We had to drive and having Maggie, who actually needs to eat, it was going to take us a little longer to get there. Jonas is very good at pushing through and making a 11 hour trip look easy, but Maggie made us nervous. So we decided to take it easy and split the journey.
2. This way we could also see our niece, Megan, play in her soft tournament in St. George. Of course you never leave when you want to and we only got to see the last half of one of her games. We could have stayed late, but I hesitated making the kids start their trip exhausted. After getting all set-up for bed, Whit did head back to watch the later games.
Make A Wish rented us a van so that we wouldn't have to put the miles on our car. The drive was so much better than I anticipated. Maggie did awesome. I'd say only once on the way there and the way back did she have a breakdown. Jonas has taught her well, already!
Oh I forgot, the night before our wish granters, Sarah and Stew, brought over a bunch of stuff for Jonas to help him get excited and ready for his trip. CD's and DVD's for the car ride, Buzz Jammies, books... Aren't volunteers just wonderful!!Thanks guys!
